let’s create a brighter tomorrow, bringing comfort and joy.

About us

Registered in 2020, the MG foundation is a non-profit organisation that is dedicated to elevating the lives of disadvantaged youth, and vulnerable children, particularly girls and orphans through providing improved education opportunities and promoting qualitative broad base life skills.

In partnership with other similar-minded projects and organisations who share our aims, our projects help to make positive, long-lasting changes to these young lives and to realise their potential in a sustainable way. We engage them through music and sports and provide them with tuition, mentorship, digital inclusion and life-skills training, in order to stay safe and achieve their potential.

The foundation, follows the same principles and values in every country it operates in. We prioritise the employment of local people and the collaboration with local entities that are committed to their community, which improves relationships, strengthens development and allows us to adapt our work to the specific needs of each location.

Our work

We are committed to enabling disadvantaged young people to realise their potential. We monitor our projects and provide tools and expertise that help to ensure our sustainability, as well as ensure that donations given by our volunteers are managed responsibly.

To help disadvantaged children learn, we must acknowledge that poverty hampers education. These children often suffer from poor health and nutrition and this drastically affects their ability to learn. Researchers have documented this in studies of individual children and through comparisons of various schools.Poor families cannot give children the enrichment experiences privileged families routinely provide.

Building young peoples’ social and emotional skills is one of MG Foundation's key goals. Our organisation recognises that social and emotional competencies influence how well young people adjust to their environment and how much they achieve in their lives. In 1993, the United Nations adopted its first resolution on sport, marking the fact that sport had been used as a development tool for many decades.

Research reveals that music affects the brain in positive ways and may help close the income gap. Music can improve memory, learning and other aspects of the brain and confidence gained is substantially significant. Giving these children the opportunity to learn another language that can be spoken universally and has so many positive impacts on other aspects in life is incredible.

Our vision

To continue to recognise the importance of identifying and fully understanding the unique needs of each child in order to effectively and sustainably address them. Our purpose is to help create lasting solutions to the injustice of poverty.

For example, education is a basic human right, yet those who need education the most – children living in poverty – are the least likely to attend and complete school.

Our projects

We build a better future for African youth while helping and lending a hand in some of the world’s poorest countries. This is especially key because of the number of the United Nations SDGs that directly parallel what MG Foundation does.

Through the provision of nutrition, education, treatment and safe shelters, this project gives girls, orphaned and abandoned children, opportunities to attain the highest level of educational pursuits in their lives without financial constraints.

In partnership with Umpfumi Inotho, we will manufacture washable and reusable sanitary pads. The project has a positive environmental impact as it will reduce the waste dumped in rivers and land, and save the girls the monthly cost of purchasing sanitary pads.

The Sponsor a Buddy Project (SBP) is an initiative aimed at giving well-established members of the society who have benefited directly from the Foundation to mentor and sponsor new members.

This programme is designed to mobilise and strengthen poor communities in Sub-Saharan Africa to come together and be the vanguards and agents of change by ensuring an increase in the number of children that transit to secondary schools in their communities.

We intend to develop a comprehensive approach to development by operationalising the linkages between agriculture, food, security, nutrition and social protection.

Providing social, economic and emotional support for mothers and guardians of children with special needs, in a town called Gwanda, Zimbabwe.

This programme aims to develop boys’ and girls’ confidence and awareness and empower them to become active members in their communities, and to gain a sense of social responsibility.

The main goal of this project, is to consolidate women's roles and capabilities in the Zimbabwean community through enhancing their social, political, economic and cultural participation.

Our mission

Through our 3 pillars ‘Educate, Enrich and Empower’ our mission is to create and sustain a world where all young people can realise their unique potential, improve their lives for the long term, and contribute to stronger communities. MG Foundation aims to work to implement long-term, positive change in the lives of disadvantaged and at risk children and young adults in Essex and in countries where our helping hands are needed.

Sponsor a child

Give one of them some love.

There are many children needing that extra and special attention, make an impact where it means the most.

Being a sponsor is an amazing experience, you are able to follow a child grow up and develop. You can choose to sponsor a child in pre-primary, primary or secondary school. You will receive regular updates, reports and other communication about and from the child. You can get to know the family and child through meetings. You choose the level of communication. We believe (and independent studies have proven) that individual child sponsorship is one of the most effective ways to defeat poverty.

Families in poverty have no safety net in times of crisis. The COVID-19 crisis will have a disproportionate impact on the poor, through job loss, loss of remittances, rising prices, and disruptions in services such as education and health care. Coronavirus has already cost hundreds of thousands of lives and could force billions of people into poverty.

MG Foundation has been on the ground, working tirelessly to prevent the spread of the virus. We are taking important steps to support vulnerable children and our community in preventing the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), by providing counselling and support for vulnerable children and families during this crisis.

To beat this pandemic we need to act together in every country, for every person and your contribution can make a world of difference.

“The fruit of love is service, which is compassion in action”
